Heartspace Art Exhibition 2010

This is the third exhibition by Heartspace@St Mary's after the inaugural success of Journey into Life in 2008 and Drawn by Grace (2009). Join Heartspace as we take a journey of spiritual discovery through art and creative expression.

Over the years, the Lord has blessed this ministry with people who have come to Heartspace and stayed to serve by sharing their gifts, talents and most of all, their genuine selves with those who use Heartspace as their sanctuary.

During a team discernment retreat last year, what emerged as we prayed about our mission were the desires for healing and restoration; to find God in the vulnerable places of ourselves and to return to Joy, Wonder & Beauty. Many of us have experienced restoration in our journeys and have witnessed this in the journeys of others through creating and sharing at Heartspace.

So this year, we were led to provide a series of day retreats (from April to June) that integrated Art and Spirituality. Much of the inspiration from these retreats were from our Holy Fathers Pope John Paul and Pope Benedict themselves, who spoke about the purpose of Art in the church. Many of the artists in this exhibition came to those retreats and continued the journey with us.
